CONWAY REC ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR WINTER BASKETBALL SEASON

The Conway Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce its plans for basketball for the 2021 winter season. Intramural basketball will be offered to girls and boys in grades 3rd-6th. The following is the tentative timetable and phased approach for the season. Please keep in mind this is dependent on participation numbers as well as the constantly changing Covid-19 situation here in the Mount Washington Valley.

Registration is open and will remain open until Thursday, January 14th. Boys basketball will take place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons while girls basketball will take place on Tuesday and Thursdays beginning on Tuesday, January 19th. The first phase will be four weeks of skills and drills sessions (30-45 minutes) with small assigned groups. If at this point, the Covid-19 number remains manageable, we will enter phase two. Upon the return from February vacation, we will move to games. Games this season will be 3 v 3 and be played cross court.

In order to minimize risk and exposure, at this point, no parents will be permitted access to the building. We will use a drop-off and pick-up procedure similar to the school. We also plan on using a private Facebook live or our YouTube page to film and broadcast games so parents and grandparents can watch from home.
